The Greater Vancouver Board of Trade (GVBT) is one of the most respected business associations in British Columbia, playing a key role in fostering economic development, public-private collaboration, and leadership across the region.As part of the renowned Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) program, I was selected to serve as Communication Advisor — a strategic role within the Communications Committee, supporting the positioning and alignment of the program across stakeholders.This experience offered a unique opportunity to contribute at the intersection of strategic communication, leadership development, and institutional engagement.Key responsibilities:• Advised on communication strategies to align the LOT program’s messaging with the GVBT’s broader institutional voice.• Collaborated closely with board members and committee leaders to ensure consistency in internal and external communication efforts.• Helped shape narratives that highlighted the program’s impact and relevance, contributing to reports, presentations, and strategic briefings.• Supported the planning and execution of high-profile events, providing insights on stakeholder engagement, brand positioning, and storytelling.• Represented the Communications Committee in key meetings, guiding tone, content, and alignment with the LOT vision.This role deepened my understanding of leadership in a cross-sectoral environment and reinforced my commitment to purpose-driven communication as a tool for influence and connection.
