As Head of Civil Engineering at Open Grid Europe - operator of Germany´s largest gas transmission pipeline system - I am responsible for the design and construction of all new gas compressor stations in our network. The transmission pipeline network corresponds approximately to the length of the German Autobahn network. My team is in charge of the basic & detail engineering design and project control for civil, structural and technical building services on owner’s side for our construction projects.During my over 25 years professional career I gained a vast experience and have been involved in responsible managing positions of various complex large-scale industrial projects – on Owner’s and EPC-Contractor’s side.Working between 2008 and 2018 as Technical Project Manager for STEAG on Investor’s side in various large construction and installation projects I became over the past years a Civil and Structural Steel Expert for consultancy services in technical feasibility studies, due diligences, M&A projects and existing energy production facilities in the conventional thermal power plant and renewable sector.As Project Manager certified by the International Project Management Association (IPMA) I am specialized in technical Project and Contract Management for industrial investment projects.Throughout my expat secondment for ThyssenKrupp as Design Works Manager to Ankara, Turkey between 2004 and 2006 I was leading a multi-national and interdisciplinary engineering team and was responsible for up to 35 engineers and draftsmen. The role involved the coordination of design activities for three large scale EPC brownfield cement plant projects in the Middle East.My track record covers successful work on main industrial projects among others from Brasil in the West via Germany, Spain, Romania and Turkey to Saudi Arabia, the United Arabian Emirates and Indonesia in the East as well as Botswana, South Africa and Namibia in the South.
