About Maia Patterson
I am Maia Patterson, an ambitious undergraduate student at Howard University\'s School of Communications, specializing in Strategic Legal Management and Communications with minor in Community Development. With a GPA of 4.0 and expected graduation in May 2025, I have been recognized as a Hampton Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. Scholar, a Morgan Stanley Scholar Recipient, and a Goldman Sachs Market Madness Scholar. As an active leader on campus, I serve as the President of UGSA, and contribute to the Black Women Pre-Law Society\'s public relations team, and the Howard University Mock Trial Team. As a Summer Compliance Analyst in the Privacy and Technology team I am gaining valuable experience in monitoring compliance with data privacy laws, conducting privacy impact assessments, and supporting data privacy policy implementation. I’m also identifying and mitigating technology-related risks, and ensuring new tech initiatives meet compliance requirements. Additionally, I’m staying updated on privacy and technology regulations, drafting compliance documentation, analyzing compliance metrics, and developing training programs to promote a culture of compliance. This opportunity is enriching my understanding of the intersection between compliance, privacy, and technology within the financial services industry, and I’m excited to contribute to and learn from this esteemed organization.
