   Creates and manufactures an airworthy radio-controlled plane to compete at the annual AIAA DBF competition and collaborates with other subteam members and the overall team for a final report and presentation to competition judges.• Member of mechanical subteam and chosen to launch a new piloting subteam and implement a training program for RC plane pilots at a local airfield - a project undertaken due to concern about a lack of flight testing.• Designed in SolidWorks and 3D printed payload inserts and payload-plane integration system that successfully carried 30 passenger dolls, which resulted in the highest mission score for the team at competition. Led brainstorming, designing in CAD, prototyping, testing, and implementation processes for all 2024 competition missions due to previous success and experience for this competition component. Worked with fuselage designing team to determine proper sizing of fuselage and mission insert (as required by competition mission).• Designed in SolidWorks and 3D printed a payload that had to withstand forces of flight and carry 3-kg weights for successful use during a specific 2023 competition task.• Laser cuts balsa wood, monocoques fuselage, and drills and cuts carbon fiber for planes that will undergo high stress and forces.• Learning to fly trainer RC plane at local airfield, with eventual ability to fly actual competition plane (due to a previous lack of team members who were able to do so), at local flying field and/or at competition.
