ABOUT MAHTAB NAZARBAKHSH
I am a water resource specialist with expertise in numerical modeling, water balance analysis, data management, and data analysis to develop and implement sustainable water resource management.I have conducted hydrological studies, including watershed characterization and flood risk assessments, to create data-driven strategies that mitigate climate risks. My work on mine water balance models involved optimizing processes, conducting predictive simulations, and implementing QA/QC to support decision-making.Leveraging models including HEC-HMS and HEC-GeoHMS, I have quantified uncertainties in climate change impacts, improving the reliability of runoff projections. I have also optimized water distribution efficiency by designing water infrastructure and implementing irrigation planning and management.I have assessed the impact of seasonally frozen soils on snowmelt-dominated hydrology, soil hydraulic properties, and plant root water uptake to identify controls on spring evapotranspiration simulations in boreal forests using large-scale eco-hydrological models. With strong data science skills, I have integrated complex datasets and developed predictive models to inform sustainable water management strategies. My collaborative approach and clear communication ensure impactful results for stakeholders. My selected areas of expertise include: Hydrological and Hydraulic Modeling: Build and apply models to simulate water flow and storage for flood risk assessments and resource planning. Mine Site Water Balance Modeling: Refine models to optimize water use, manage inflows/outflows, and ensure regulatory compliance. Climate Change and Flood Risk Analysis: Assess climate change impacts and flood risks with predictive models to support adaptation strategies. Sensitivity and Uncertainty Assessment: Analyze model reliability to enhance decision-making and water management. Data Collection and Analysis: Gather and analyze hydrological, hydrogeological and climate data to validate models and guide water management. Coding: Develop tools to optimize hydrological and environmental data analysis.I\'m available to discuss new opportunities, please contact me at m••••••••@gmail.com.SELECTED TECHNICAL SKILLS:Models: GoldSim, HEC-HMS, HECGEO-HMS, HEC-RAS, Arc Hydro, MODFLOW, GMS, CLASS-CTEMOthers: Aquarius, ArcGIS, AutoCADLanguages: Python, Pandas, R, Fortran
