About Mahnoor Imran
I’m an organizer and graduate from the University of Michigan with a degree in public policy and concentration in policing, surveillance, and the carceral state. In all my advocacy and organizing efforts, I am driven by a desire to challenge the political status quo and improve the material conditions of everyday people. I constantly think about those who are most on the margins - people who are incarcerated, people who are faced with the brutality of destitution, and people who experience homelessness. The cracks in our hegemonic political and economic systems are glaringly evident, and they produce indefensible living and working conditions. Therefore, I believe that my work must be grounded in direct interaction and engagement with those who are impacted by the systems that I have studied.
