ABOUT MAHIR SINGH

As a passionate and dedicated healthcare professional, I completed the Practical Nursing program with honors and began my journey as a Registered Practical Nurse with the Nursing Resource Team (NRT) at Hamilton Health Sciences. I am now continuing my professional growth as an RPN in the Emergency Department at Juravinski Hospital. My nursing career is driven by a commitment to compassionate care, critical thinking, and a strong desire to make a meaningful impact in the lives of my patients.Beyond clinical work, I have embraced leadership and educational opportunities to support my peers and contribute to the healthcare field. I am the former President of the Mohawk Nursing Club, where I led initiatives to connect and empower nursing students. Currently, I work as a Lab Technician and Instructor at Mohawk College, where I have the privilege of teaching nursing students and supporting hands-on learning in the simulation center. I also serve as a steward with OPSEU, advocating for the rights and interests of union members.Outside of my professional roles, I am passionate about community service. I’ve volunteered with organizations like NewHope, Ride Smart, and at the City Wentworth Lodge, collaborating on events that promote safety, connection, and well-being for children and the elderly in the Hamilton area.From running my first half marathon to being featured in Momentum Magazine, this journey has been filled with milestones. Each step reinforces my commitment to healthcare, education, and leadership. I’m excited for the opportunities ahead to continue learning, growing, and making a difference in my community.
