ABOUT MAHESH KUMAR GANESAN

With a Master’s degree in Process Safety and Environmental Engineering from Otto von Guericke University, Germany, and a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, I have always been passionate about risk assessment, hazard identification, and process safety optimization. My academic research on pyrolysis of sewage sludge at elevated pressure and environmental risk management has given me a deep technical foundation in industrial safety.As a Process Safety & Design HSE Engineer at TPI GmbH, I have been instrumental in assessing, mitigating, and managing risks in large-scale FEED and basic engineering projects across the petrochemical and energy sectors. I specialize in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL studies, fire and gas detection, hazardous area classification, and emergency response planning. I have led project risk assessments, ensuring that all process hazards are proactively identified and addressed to enhance plant safety and compliance with API, NFPA, IEC, and GB standards. Working closely with licensors like LyondellBasell, I have developed technical bid evaluations, dispersion modeling, fire protection strategies, and HSE planning to mitigate potential risks during the design phase.Moving forward, my goal is to enhance plant safety by advancing risk assessment and mitigation strategies. I aim to integrate predictive risk analysis, digital safety technologies, and proactive hazard management to minimize operational risks and prevent incidents before they occur. By continuously improving risk-based process safety (RBPS) frameworks, I strive to create safer, more resilient industrial environments that prioritize sustainability, compliance, and operational excellence
