As a director, I envisioned a project that would enable our current clients to track their orders throughout the quotation, dispatch, and delivery phases. The project is particularly difficult because India\'s steel retail sector is unorganized, with fierce competition from a large number of players. The project altered that industry perception and envisioned the company as a highly organized, customer-centric organization. Additionally, the e-commerce component of the project aided the company in attracting new generations and serving as a marketing tool. Overall, the company\'s sales increased by more than 30%, while customer retention increased by 18%.On the ground, I was responsible for increasing factory productivity. Throughout this time period, I\'ve used operations research methodologies and TQM principles to alter the existing factory design, reorganize various work departments, and manage the construction of a new warehouse in order to increase overall productivity and storage capacity. Productivity improved by at least 40%. Capacity of storage increased by 250%.
