ABOUT MAHEK JASANI
I am a second-year Bachelor of Science student at the University of Toronto, double majoring in Cell & Molecular Biology and Fundamental Genetics & its Applications with a minor in Immunology. My academic journey is enriched by hands-on experiences in both scientific research and healthcare, including an internship at Dr. Reddy’s Institute of Life Sciences, where I developed strong laboratory skills in PCR, gel electrophoresis, and other molecular biology techniques. In addition to my scientific background, I have assisted a medical intern at Aga Khan Health Services, gaining practical skills in dental assistance, IV therapy, biochemistry tests, and blood tests. My ability to support medical professionals in a clinical setting has deepened my understanding of patient care and medical diagnostics. Furthermore, I completed a summer internship at Young Souls Montessori, where I honed skills in material making, marketing, admissions, communications, and graphic designing. Additionally, I contributed to Alumni Relations at the Division of University Advancement (DUA), where I played a key role in the successful organization and execution of the Spring Convocation 2024, managing alumni communications, event logistics, and engagement initiatives. I am passionate about leveraging my interdisciplinary knowledge and skills to contribute to the advancement of medical research, healthcare, and education. I am always eager to connect with like-minded professionals and explore opportunities that align with my academic and career aspirations.
