ABOUT RAHIMI

My research journey has been fueled by a passion for designing innovative materials for drug delivery systems. Currently, at Hôpital du Sacré-Cœur-de-Montréal, I\'m tackling the challenge of inflammatory diseases by developing targeted nano-vectors for gene therapy. This project leverages my expertise in nano-formulation methods, allowing me to engineer these carriers for efficient and specific delivery of therapeutic genes.Before this, I delved into the world of bottlebrush polymers during my postdoc at Lodz University of Technology. I designed these unique polymers to revolutionize biomedical applications. Specifically, my focus was on tailoring them for osteoarthritis treatment and for creating novel drug delivery systems.My foundational skills were built during my Ph.D. research, where I explored the potential of natural polymer-based materials. This project involved designing a co-delivery system for the powerful drugs doxorubicin and methotrexate, to improve breast cancer treatment. My expertise extends beyond material design, as I\'m proficient in utilizing in vitro models and diverse biochemical techniques like cytotoxicity assays, ELISA, Western blotting, etc. These skills allow me to thoroughly evaluate and optimize the efficacy of my designed materials. Driven by the inherently interdisciplinary nature of chemistry and biomaterials, I\'m constantly striving to build a comprehensive understanding of both chemical and biological systems. This allows me to push the boundaries of drug delivery by designing ever more sophisticated and effective materials.
