As the Director of Bioinformatics and Data Science at Roche, I lead a large team dedicated to advancing next-generation sequencing (NGS) and sequencing by expansion (SBX) technologies with a particular focus on cancer detection, monitoring, therapy selection and the study of germline and genetic diseases. My role combines leadership in bioinformatics with hands-on algorithm development, utilizing machine learning (ML), deep learning (DL), and artificial intelligence (AI) to create innovative computational solutions that improve genomic data analysis. I am committed to leveraging these technologies to drive breakthroughs in precision medicine, enabling more accurate diagnostics, better treatment monitoring, and novel insights into complex genetic conditions.My passion lies in using algorithm development and data science to address critical challenges in cancer and genetic disease research. By applying advanced AI, ML, and DL techniques, I develop scalable solutions that enhance the accuracy and efficiency of detecting and monitoring cancer, as well as identifying genetic markers for inherited conditions. Through collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, I ensure these algorithms are integrated into impactful healthcare applications.
