Senior Applied Machine Learning Scientist - Model Development & Ai @TD

Building and leading a talented team of data scientists (∼11 people) and engineers from interdisciplinary academic backgrounds. Managing the end-to-end development and deployment of 12 large and high-impact ML models serving millions of customers. Managing, consulting and coordinating with various parties such as Validation, Business, Cloud, and Compliance teams. Shaping and designing novel product-driven AI solutions based on research, prototyping, strategic planning, experimentation, and stakeholder inputs. Developing new partnerships with various data science teams across the bank, creating new ideas and collaborative usecases. Nominated in two consecutive years for TD\'s inventor of the year and having 14 filled patents in past few years. Launching some of the most novel Generative AI initiatives in the bank: 1) Conditional variational autoencoders (cVAE) for enhanced stress-testing of Market Risk models. 2) RiskIntel, a RAG-based Webapp for Risk-specific document retrieval and interaction. Fine-tuning the embedding model with massive open source Risk documents for enhanced performance Managing the development of novel and large AI models/products in the areas of Retail Risk (+$10 MM/Y), Small Business Banking (+$1.8 MM/Y), Fraud (+$0.6 MM/Y), and Collection/Recovery (+$2.1 MM/Y), generating millions of dollars in revenue and elevating TD\'s reputation as a leader in AI financial services.
