As National Chair of the Federal Youth Network (FYN), I provide national leadership of the FYN and have for the last 8 years. Since 2016 this leadership has led to- A twelve fold increase in funding moving the FYN from a largely volunteer based structure to a full time and well resourced community model- A nearly instant pivot to virtual learning in March 2020, securing the FYN as a leader in virtual learning- Delivery of learning events for young and new public servants, including weekly webcasts- Developing and delivering Career Boot Camp, the largest conference in the Government of Canada, including a pivot from in-person delivery in 2018 & 2019 to virtual delivery from 2021 to 2025. This conference has hosted more than 39,800 learners since the move to a virtual delivery- Developing and delivering in-person learning events in 24 cities across Canada in 2024 with over 2,700 registered learners for just-in-time learning on a variety of career development topics- Provide strategic input into key government priorities- Developing partnerships with the Privy Council Office, Treasury Board Secretariat and other departmental partners- Regular speaking engagements at internal and external conferences and events on topics such as public sector innovation, managing employees with disabilities, public service recruitment and retention, employee engagement, and official languages- Having the FYN recognized by its inclusion in the United Nations Public Service Forum in June of 2024, showcasing the FYN as an innovator and driver of development and retention in the GC, and a global model of success in learning.
