About Maggie Salko

Hello, thanks for visiting my page! I am a marketing professional within the world of children\'s book publishing. Through my time in the industry I\'ve had the honor to represent publishers at major conferences such as ALA and TLA, work on campaigns with nationwide publicity coverage, and do author coordination across a wide variety of titles, including selected \'celebrity\' authors. I have a real passion for promoting children\'s media and am open to opportunities outside of the industry, although my masters degree is in Book Publishing. Outside of skills associated with book publishing I consider myself talented in digital marketing, having managed social media accounts for companies with 400k+ followers, in addition to having experience in website management, newsletter creation, and digital advertising across Google, Facebook, and branded sites. While I love to work on any children\'s book or series that promotes joy and compassion, I take a special interest in banned books and those featuring LGBTQ characters as I believe that all families and children deserve to be represented in the books that they read. I bring this compassion into my volunteer work with the Children\'s Book Council, and past brand partnerships I\'ve been lucky enough to work on such as GLAAD x Little Bee Books. Overall I am a marketing professional who enjoys working in children\'s media and takes a great effort in making sure that on every kid\'s shelf there\'s a book, DVD, etc. that they can see themselves, their family, and their community, reflected inside.
