About Maggie Adams

Maggie Adams specializes in equitable analysis for transit and eTOD projects and in communicating transit changes for communities. Based in Washington, DC, Maggie has 18 years’ experience at HDR helping to shape transit projects with community knowledge and helping communities stay up to date and involved at the project level.     Projects include- Equitable Economic Development Lead, Winston-Salem eTOD Study. Devising strategies to retain and strengthen Black and Brown small businesses in a future transit corridor through a stakeholder interview and community roundtable process, culminating in an action plan for the City of Winston-Salem to prevent displacement and center equity in economic development strategy moving forward- Narrative Writer, RAISE and BUILD grant applications. Helped secure $19m RAISE award for Eugene and Springfield, OR\'s Franklin Boulevard complete streets project- Communications Team Manager, DC Streetcar Program Management Consultant Team. Managed a team of four subconsultant firms and led communications efforts for the District Department of Transportation\'s streetcar program. Strategic short-term and long-term communications planning, social media management, public involvement, event planning, governance/finance analysis, transit alignment planning, and more- Strategic Communications, WSSC Water. Led the rebrand of the Piscataway Bioenergy Project and developed key pieces for WSSC Water in advance of project groundbreaking- Public Involvement, DC2RVA High Speed Rail. Helped manage the public process for the DC to Richmond Southeast High Speed Rail Tier II EIS- Strategic Communications, NY State Department of Transportation- Regional Transit Planning, Lehigh Valley, PA - Conducted a transit-supportive land use analysis and underutilized parcel analysis for PA\'s Lehigh Valley, in support of a new regional transit plan- Federal Grant Support - Prepared two successful applications for the HUD Sustainable Communities Regional Planning Grant: PA’s Lehigh Valley and NC’s Piedmont region.
