When Purse Strings was just an idea, I was sitting in a room full of women—friends, neighbors, professionals—all sharing their financial experiences. My job at the time? Just taking notes.I listened as woman after woman told stories that floored me- “My financial advisor doesn’t even look at me.”- “My husband handles the money”- “When I talk to financial professionals, I feel like prey”Here were women who ran businesses, managed households, and juggled careers and caregiving—yet when it came to money, they were being overlooked. Dismissed. Not part of the conversation.I couldn’t believe it.Women control $10 trillion in assets and make 80% of financial decisions—yet they weren’t even being acknowledged by the professionals handling their life savings? That moment changed everything for me.So I Stopped Taking Notes and Started Taking Action.I co-founded Purse Strings to change the narrative. We give women the financial tools, education, and connections they need to take control of their money. And just as importantly, we train financial professionals to better serve women—because women are NOT a niche.How We’re Making a Difference A Vetted Directory – We connect women with financial professionals who truly listen and understand their needs.
