About Maggie Kornfeind

My academic and vocational aspirations are fueled by my commitment to helping others through a social justice lens that supports personal growth and empowerment. I find joy in providing emotional and vocational support that centers connection as a key role in individual and collective healing. I seek to uphold a holistic approach when working with people, emphasizing the need for respectful, humanizing models that explore broader social systems\' contributions to understanding the individual. Other areas of focus within my studies in the field of psychology have included adolescent social emotional learning, women\'s health and culture, and immigrant and refugee identity development. I have qualitative research experiences at the undergraduate level that have been supported by community-based research with immigrant and refugee populations. Before pursuing a degree in Psychology at the graduate level, I have decided to mark my transition out of my undergraduate studies by honoring my commitment to serving directly with communities seeking holistic mental health support.

   Developed community-wide resources and created tools to track wellness and food service outcomes. Served on a Food Philosophy Committee, contributing to the design and implementation of a community-wide food philosophy. Provided administrative support for the Wellness Team through scheduling, agenda preparation, and follow-up, participated in therapeutic work teams and cross-site learning to foster collaboration and wellness initiatives, and facilitated external resource recruitment for group activities such as yoga and sound baths.
