ABOUT MAGGIE CASTINADO

Atty. Castinado is a Senior Assistant Public Defender practicing criminal defense at the Superior Court in New Haven. She received her undergraduate degree in Social Work from Colorado State University in 1994 and received her Juris Doctor degree from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 1998 where she was a Student Bar Association (SBA) Senator, served on the board of the Latin American Law Student Association (LALSA) for 3 years, and received an award for Outstanding Service to the Law School Atty. Castinado is a Past President of the Connecticut Hispanic Bar Association. During her presidency, Ms. Castinado continued strengthening the CHBA’s commitment to issues of importance to the CHBA, including but not limited to issues of diversity and inclusion. Atty Castinado serves or has served as a board member of CBF, NHLAA, Statewide Legal services and CHBA board. She also served on the House of Delegates and Board of Governors of the CBA, as Co-Chair of the CBA\'s Diversity and Inclusion Committee, as a James W. Cooper Fellow, Diversity Liaison of CBA\'s Women in the Law Section, on the Latina Commission of the HNBA and as Deputy President Region 1-CT for the HNBA.
