ABOUT MAGDALENA SMYTH

Current student at Providence College studying Global Studies and History. Class of 2025.Phillips Exeter Academy class of 2020.During the winter of 2020, I studied abroad in Callan, Ireland. I worked in a Camphill Community, a housing community for intellectually disable adults. I also worked on a local farm and taught in a local school. I took a gap year during the 20••••21 academic year in order to discern my choice of study at college and to experience the world outside of an academic setting. During this year off, I spent 2 months in Albania tutoring young girls in English. Then, I spent two weeks in Hawaii hiking, backpacking, and learning about the state\'s natural history. Afterwards, I spent 3 months in West Virginia working for non-profit: Bethlehem Farm. In between my travels, I worked in a local restaurant in NH and volunteered at various local non-profits.
