ABOUT MAËLLE DÉLEN
I am a Fellow at the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI), where I notably develop tailor-made training materials and learning tools on climate security, gender, and prevention of violent extremism (PVE) for local organisations and governments in the Sahel and West African regions. I hold a MSc in Security Studies from UCL, where I graduated with distinction. My dissertation delved into explaining the interplay of factors that propel nation-states to elevate climate change from a mere political issue to a core component of their national security strategies, by comparing Kenya and Tanzania (74/100). Previously, I was an International UN Volunteer at the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), where I conducted a comprehensive e-government participation analysis for Switzerland and Monaco, and a Stockholm International Water Institute Assistant at World Water Week, where I facilitated live interviews with distinguished panelists. Through these experiences, I have developed a passion for addressing global challenges and fostering cross-cultural collaboration.I am lucky to have studied and be currently working on topics that I have a genuine enthusiam for. Constantly trying to expand my skillset, I have also been learning Swahili for the past year and completed the online e-course \"Water, Peace and Security\" in my spare time.
