ABOUT MAEESA SYEDA ALI

I’m a first-year Computer Science student at Aston University with a deep love for games, tech, and the psychology that shapes how we interact with them. My academic journey has been all about bridging creativity with logic, whether it’s through code, storytelling, or design. Professionally, I’ve worked in a fast-paced sales environment at Nespresso, where I developed strong communication and people skills. I’ve also explored voice acting through Theatre Gym, which allowed me to express myself creatively and build confidence in collaborative, performance-based spaces. Currently, I’m in the process of developing my own game using Unreal Engine 5 — a passion project that combines my technical learning with my lifelong love for gaming and interactive storytelling. I’m especially drawn to narrative-driven games that tap into psychological depth. Concepts like Maslow’s hierarchy of needs fascinate me, and I often find myself analyzing how character motivations play out in media like Criminal Minds. Outside of tech, I’m an artist with a focus on hyper-realistic drawing. It’s a form of mindfulness for me, where precision and patience meet creativity, and it’s this same attention to detail I bring into my coding and design work. I’m excited to explore opportunities where technology, creativity, and human understanding come together, especially in game development, AI, or user experience design.
