ABOUT MADURA SUNDARESWARAN
Community Family Physician in Peterborough, Ontario. Collaborating Physician for the Victorian Order of Nurses Nurse-Practitioner Led Clinic in Kirkfield, Lindsay, and Keene and the 360 Degree NP-Led Clinic in Peterborough. I am an active member of the medical community with a passion for improving healthcare delivery and promoting community-driven solutions for enhancing primary care. Since 2010, I have participated in a range of qualitative research projects focused on health of marginalized populations, cross-cultural experiences of illness, and the role of primary care in promoting health equity. Most recently, my work has focused on improving access of primary care to immigrants and refugees in medium-sized communities. With incredible support of the local community, we have founded the Peterborough Newcomer Health Clinic providing transitional primary care services to newcomers in the region. We hope to build the research and clinical capacity of this clinic over the next few years.
