About Madison Wood
I work in marine isotope geochemistry and geoscience workforce development, outreach, and education as a PhD candidate at UC Santa Cruz. My study of Earth\'s carbon cycle and past ocean chemistry prompts my interest in ocean-based climate solutions like marine carbon dioxide removal (mCDR), particularly with regard to policy and governance of emerging technologies. I\'m equally dedicated to promoting the success of students in geoscience through my leadership roles in the Geoscience Education and Mentorship Support (GEMS) program and my NSF-funded GROW Career Development project. I have 4+ years experience leading outreach events, coordinating workshops, and building educational resources aligned with diversity, equity, and inclusion best practices.
