Howdy!My name is Madison. I\'m an environmental scientist with 8+ years of experience working across the spectrum of environmental services, engineering, and consulting. I recently received my master\'s degree and began a career at ERM as a remediation scientist.I graduated from Texas State University (TXST) in 2020 with a B.S. in Geography with a focus in Environmental Studies and Resources and a Minor in Plant and Soil Science. I received an M.S. from the University of Denver in 2024 in Environmental Policy and Management with a concentration in Renewable Energy and Sustainability. My graduate thesis examined the ability of saprophytic fungi to decompose coarse woody debris in forest ecosystems and provided implications for best practice land management in the Colorado Front Range for purposes of wildfire mitigation. I intend to pursue another M.S. or PhD in the future.During my undergraduate tenure, I was a member of the Environment Conservation Organization, a member of Bobcat Blend (a campus-wide composting effort), as well as a volunteer and manager of a TXST agriculture department vermicomposting research project. Throughout both my undergraduate and graduate tenure, I worked full-time as an environmental/geospatial scientist for a Texas-based civil and environmental engineering firm and as a sustainability associate for a California-based ESG and government affairs consulting firm. In my free time I enjoy playing and discovering new music, going to concerts, hiking, camping, climbing 14\'ers, visiting National Parks, and exploring new avenues for outdoor recreation. I like cooking with friends and doing crafts or an art project of sorts. Some of my personal and academic interests are wildlife and ecosystem management, sustainable land management, remote sensing technologies, nature-based remediation methodologies, mining remediation, and renewable energy efficiency and infrastructure.
