ABOUT MADISON DENNIS
Madison earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor degree in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from Furman University. She then went on to pursue her Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of Southern California. Madison trained at The Maple Counseling Center in Beverly Hills, where she specialized in psychodynamic psychotherapy. This approach acts as the foundation in all of her work. Madison utilizes psychodynamic therapy to help individuals gain insight into their own personal histories, their unconscious processes, and the barriers and defenses that stand in their way. Madison also describes herself as integrative; she intuitively pulls from a range of other approaches and skillsets including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy that she trained in throughout her years working in adolescent residential treatment. Today, she works in a group practice, West Coast Integrative Mental Health, and helps adolescents, adults, and families struggling with changes in mood, interpersonal problems, life transitions, autism spectrum, personality disorders, trauma, and substance use to heal, grow, and create meaningful lives. Madison is also a board member of a non-profit organization assisting in the co-design of a therapeutic school for LGBTQ+ teens.
