About Madison Scott
My undergraduate degree in Zoology stems from my love for animals and ecosystems This love has led me to dedicate volunteer time to working with Thread Up Oxford and doing taxidermy for the Miami University Natural History Museum’s educational programs. My passion for animals means protecting them and educating others about their impacts, so I also have strong passions tied to the environment.My sociology graduate program stems from my passion for people. I have always been known to be a true extrovert, hoping to gain a real understanding of those around me. In the past, I have volunteered as a City Counselor for the American Legion Auxiliary Buckeye Girls State program as well as a Team Leader at Urban Hope in Philadelphia. My thesis focused on the social and health impacts of the East Palestine Ohio train derailment.I view my studies in Zoology and Sociology as the perfect combination to gain an understanding of environmentalism, as I study both the environment itself as well as the people who impact and are impacted by it. I hope to take these skills I have learned and the passions that I have to a career after I have completed my studies.
