As a nurse extern, my team and I work to provide high quality care to the sickest individuals in the hospital. I have a wide range of duties, from helping patients perform activities of daily living, to transporting patients throughout the hospital, to taking blood sugars and EKGs, to making new patient charts; it\'s never a dull moment. I also have the opportunity to occasionally shadow an ICU nurse for a shift, which enriches my time and allows me to evaluate where I may work after graduating nursing school.
