ABOUT MADISON HAALAND-FORD
I am a student at the University of Southern California pursuing a B.S. in Human Biology on the pre-med track, with a minor in Business Administration at the Marshall School of Business. As a Presidential Scholar and Dean’s List honoree, I approach my education with intellectual curiosity, discipline, and a deep commitment to excellence.Alongside my academics, I compete as a Division I water polo player at USC. Balancing elite athletics with rigorous coursework has strengthened my resilience, time management, and ability to perform under pressure, qualities that directly shape the physician I aspire to become. My passion for healthcare has been shaped by diverse, hands-on clinical experiences. Over the past four years, I interned at a mental wellness center, gaining meaningful exposure to community-based mental health care. I also volunteer in the neonatal intensive care unit at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital and serve in the TCAB (Transforming Care at the Bedside) program at Cedars-Sinai, supporting maternity care teams and contributing to patient-centered initiatives. These experiences have deepened my understanding of clinical environments and reinforced my commitment to becoming a compassionate, thoughtful, and effective physician.I am especially interested in the intersection of healthcare, mental health, and leadership, and I am always eager to connect with professionals who are driven to improve lives through medicine and i••••••••@usc.edu
