About Madison Empalmado
Hello! My name is Madison Empalmado. I am currently a first year graduate student at Cal State Fullerton’s M.S in Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy Program. I am a Graduate of the University of California, Irvine with a B.A in Psychological Sciences and a Minor in Education. I am based in Irvine with a passion for changing the lives of young adults and children through mental health resources. My background includes working with elementary school-aged children across various educational settings with an emphasis on mental wellness and behavioral health; holding board positions in campus organizations at UCI; producing media content that advocates for mental health; and serving as a Front Office Practice Coordinator at a community mental health clinic. My research interests include Social-Emotional Regulation in Childhood, the impact of Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support (PBIS) in the Early Childhood Education classroom, and Filipinx-American Psychology. My long-term professional goals are to pursue a Master\'s in Counseling, earn dual-licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), obtain a position in the mental health field that allows me to work with children and young adults, and provide service to those in my community. Specifically, I would see myself working in a setting that offers a safe space for my patients to pursue further personal development.
