ABOUT MADHUSHRI MUDKE

I spend my professional time analyzing data on biodiversity and understanding climate impacts on species and ecosystems. I hope to positively impact people’s attitudes and perceptions towards biodiversity conservation and the growing environmental crisis of climate change and ecosystems collapse.I have a PhD in Conservation Sciences and Sustainability Studies from Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE) and Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE). I was a Zoological Society of London’s EDGE fellow and have worked on an endangered species of dancing frog in the moist, evergreen forests of the Western Ghats, including myristica swamps. I worked on the impacts of anthropogenic activities on amphibian communities in South-western India. Before joining the PhD program, I completed my master\'s in Community-based Rehab and worked with marginalised communities, including people of disabilities, women and children in rural areas of India. Outside work, I’m passionate about writing on nature, wildlife, gender, and sustainability, and I share my experiences on social media as @girlgonebirdzzI find balance through yoga, birdwatching, and exploring India’s wild landscapes — where I truly feel at home.I post about my work on my social media channels @girlgonebirdzz
