Big Brothers Big Sisters is a volunteer based mentoring program, in which mentors are matched with youths in their community. I am matched with a 15-year-old Syrian refugee. We have been matched for a little over a year. I mentor her in all areas of life, in school and in social settings. The best thing that has come from it, is a genuine friendship and exposure to a new culture.
