About Madeline Johnson
I am a recent graduate from the Air Force Institute of Technology and received my masters in Systems Engineering with an emphasis in space systems. Previously I was a small launch mission manager in the Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) Department of Defense (DoD) Space Test Program (STP). In this role, I am responsible for executing two small commercial rapid launches with a goal of going from contract award to launch in 18 months. Prior to this position, I was a member of the Director’s systems engineering and program integration support division, where our team focused on providing engineering and program solutions to multiple programs throughout the Advanced Systems and Development Directorate. At this time, I was also a part of a $655M ground systems development source selection spanning from RFP development to award. My acquisition experience includes both contracting and management, giving me experience throughout the space acquisition cycle.
