ABOUT MADELINE GROSKLOS
As a PhD Candidate and a Graduate Research Associate at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I am passionate about finding innovative, data-driven solutions to pressing questions in performance and rehabilitation. I am part of an interdisciplinary team of engineers, clinicians, and physicians at the Sports Medicine Research Institute, where I collaborate with, support, and learn from experts in the field. My research focuses on using data-driven approaches to understand relationships between physical activity and pain, and using musculoskeletal simulations to understand the effects of muscle strength on joint contact forces. I aim to use methods that are easily translated to the clinic and can be applied directly in patient care. My dissertation work has required extensive use of accelerometers, 3D motion capture, and musculoskeletal simulation. I have also developed skills in statistical analysis, regulatory documentation, and clinical study design. I graduated from OSU with a bachelor\'s degree in biomedical engineering in 2020, and will defend my PhD in June of 2024.
