About Maddy Schwartz
I am an editor and assistant editor based in Los Angeles, CA. I graduated from Loyola Marymount University in 2019 with a bachelor\'s degree in Film Production and two minors in Screenwriting and Animation.After graduating, I worked as a junior editor in Dublin, Ireland before returning to LA in 2021. Since then, I\'ve enjoyed working at Mob Scene, an entertainment marketing company that specializes in home entertainment featurettes (behind the scenes and EPK materials). I was hired as an assistant editor in May of 2021, then was promoted to associate editor in May of 2022, and then to junior editor in March of 2023.At Mob Scene, I\'ve been fortunate enough to work on dozens of campaigns as an assistant editor (including BARBIE, THE LAST OF US, THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL, DON’T WORRY DARLING, and PEACEMAKER) and editor (including BARBIE, DUNE: PART 2, ALIEN: ROMULUS, THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY, SUNCOAST, and KUNG FU PANDA 4). Mob Scene gave me extensive workflow management experience, as many of these projects are upwards of 50TB and contain thousands of files. Once you\'ve logged 85 days of behind the scenes footage with 300+ BTS clips each, you truly feel invincible.In addition to my work at Mob Scene, I edit short films (mostly comedy) and in the summer of 2023, I co-edited my first indie feature, called MILES AWAY. I was lucky enough to be mentored through that process by a very talented and kind editor, Joshua Cole. I hope to get more experience in television and feature AE and editing work in 2024.In my free time, you can usually find me writing. I am repped by Abigail Palmer at Navigation Media Group. My pilot, NO ROAD TO NOME, won the Slamdance pilot competition in 2021. My love for both editing and writing has given me the ability to take notes well, always keep the bigger picture in mind, and never break focus until the story has been told as effectively as possible.
