ABOUT MADDIE POLICASTRO
My name is Maddie Policastro and I am currently a fourth-year student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with majors in Political Science and Journalism and Media. I am part of Honors Carolina and a student at the Hussman School of Journalism and Media. I am also a pre-law student interested in pursuing a career in media law.I work as a producer and reporter for Hussman\'s student radio station, Carolina Connection, where I pitch and produce my own audio pieces for our weekly broadcast. Previously, I was a City & State senior writer for the Daily Tar Heel, where I pitched and wrote stories about topics that encompass Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Orange County, and the State of North Carolina. I am also highly interested in media law and online regulations for children, which I am exploring through an honors thesis and in courses such as Digital Media & Society: AI Law and Data Privacy.Outside the classroom, I enjoy photography, attending concerts, writing poetry, and spending time with my friends. I also like volunteering and being involved in my community through endeavors such as being a Hussman Ambassador and participating in Model United Nations at Chapel Hill.
