ABOUT MADDIE LAING

Graduated from the University of Leeds with a 2:1 Honours degree and currently employed by BAE Systems as a Compliance and Assurance Officer in Enterprise IT. Some of my responsibilities at BAE Systems include SHE Management, Quality Management and Capability mapping across the business. I am also an Information Manager responsible for DCRD as well as the point of contact for SharePoint within IT services. Working in Environmental Health at South Ribble Borough Council, I have been responsible for educating, advising and persuading the public to help reduce infection rates. I have also been responsible for providing health protection advise to businesses. My degree course has enabled me to develop time management skills. Visually learning aspects of the course has also given me the ability to pay attention to detail. I believe that my personal organisation and my attitude to hard work are certainly attributed I have developed when completing tasks in accordance with deadlines. Alongside my academic studies, I have gained experience with a top journalism school. I have developed a well-rounded skill set in creative writing, reporting and communication. I have gained marketing experience at a local boutique by designing and implementing social media posts to promote merchandise and maintain recognition for their brand. My role involved engaging with customers through Instagram and Facebook to understand client preferences and to satisfy client demand. My role at Froogle Media has also given me the opportunity to gain some digital marketing experience. By being able to control and design social media posts as well as having access to daily analytics through Hootsuite, I was able to help maintain recognition of the company.
