ABOUT MADDIE CHATELAIN

I always thought I would be a teacher. I had dreams of standing in front of my own classroom, working with kids all day, and sharing my love of the French language. I absolutely idolized my own teachers and wanted to be like them one day. And in the Fall of 2021, after 6 years at York University, Glendon College (Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and French Studies, Bachelor of Education in the Primary/Junior Divisions), I had made it! I was a permanent public school teacher in my local school board. However, as I\'m sure many of you found out after university, choosing a career in high school for the person you would become 4+ years later doesn\'t always work out. I felt like I had failed myself by not staying on the path I had chosen and committed to. However, situations that feel like a failure in the moment can ultimately lead us to our greatest successes. And that\'s how I ended up in Human Resources! I always knew that I wanted to help people learn and grow, so I jumped into the P&C space headfirst. Above all, I\'m passionate about the employee experience. From first day to last, your employees have the potential to be your organization\'s biggest champions. My goal is to put processes and procedures in place that simplify and streamline our day-to-day, while making data-informed decisions using employee feedback.
