About MacYn Geist
Hi! My name is Macyn Geist and I am a second-year honors student at Cal Poly. I am pursuing a major in Psychology with a minor in Child Development. I hope to have a future in organizational behavior, human resource, and become a neurofeedback practitioner. Currently, I involve myself through being an intern for MLMW (dedicated to mindfulness-informed coaching), peer mental health advocate at PULSE Cal Poly, and an aspiring author. Through these experiences, I have been able to expand my knowledge in psychology, communication, leadership, and more. When I am not working towards my B.S. in psychology or dedicating time towards a career in industrial-organizational psychology, I am continuing my passion for writing as an aspiring author. My book sheds light on how heightened sensory perceptions affect psychological and physiological resilience, boundaries, and overall life. Through practical guidance and personal experience, I want this book to be a sense of hope for those struggling like I once have. I have taken initiative through leadership and philanthropic roles through Girl Scouts. I was awarded my Bronze, Silver, and Gold Award for my dedication to bettering my community. I earned the prestigious Gold Award (achieved by only 5.4% of Girl Scouts) through creation and implementation of my individual project titled \"Mental Health for Teens\" that created an educational video series for middle schoolers on depression, anxiety, and eating disorders. I dedicated 100+ hours to mental health awareness through this project. I received national recognition including President’s Volunteer Service Award for my Gold Award project, collaborating with mental health professionals and presenting to Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma-Marin. My personal passions include meditation, archetypal frameworks, and intuitive reflection that support a balanced life. As a psychology major, I wish to soon get involved in more psychology-related internships and jobs-furthering my knowledge and preparing me for a future as an author, neurofeedback practitioner, and a career in organizational behavior.

Through my internship role at Mindful Life, Mindful Work, Inc, I strengthen community relations, create connections with clients, share the voice of MLMW on digital and professional networks, and expand awareness of this company\'s mission. This role allows me to increase my knowledge and potential client knowledge on mindfulness informed coaching, leadership development, and excellence rather than repair within an organization.
