About Mac Sarbah
Mac Sarbah is a multidisciplinary scholar, social innovator, organizational development and transformation, organizational change and DEI leader, and global keynote speaker. He was an Officer and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Leader at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s Global Health Office of the President and the Strategy, Planning and Management team. As a diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) advocate, he is passionate about leveraging innovation and social entrepreneurship to creating equal access to opportunities for people from diverse backrgounds. Prior joining the Gates Foundation, he was the Founder and CEO of EdAcme, an initiative on the frontiers of creating equity in higher education access, entrepreneurship, and career advancement support to help young people from underrepresented communities realize their potential.Recognized as one of five Groundbreakers in global education, Mac’s work has taken him to over 30 countries in Africa, Asia, North America, and Europe. Mac, and his work, has been featured in over 50+ news media worldwide. Mac has appeared on several TV and radio programs in Africa and globally. In 2019, Mac Sarbah was awarded the SOCIAL IMPACT LEADERSHIP award by the University of North Texas at Dallas. In 2019, he was adjudged a STELLAR HARVARDIAN by the Harvard Gazette Magazine. Maclean is a member of the Harvard Business Review Advisory Council, an opt-in research community of business professionals, who provide thought leadership on some of the most important business, management and leadership issues of today. He was, also, a Global Insights Panel Member at the MIT Technology Review.He obtained a Bachelor of Arts (First Class Honors) from the University of Ghana and graduate degrees Columbia University in New York City, University of Cambridge and Harvard University. He also received an Advanced Post-Graduate Certificate in Cooperation and Conflict Resolution from Columbia University’s Morton Deutsch International Center for Cooperation and Conflict Resolution In his leisure time, he enjoys reading, watching soccer, traveling and meeting people from different cultures, mentoring young people, and volunteering for social causesHe is fluent in English, Spanish, Ewe, Twi, and Pidgin.
