ABOUT GRAHAM MACLACHLAN
He has been involved in the International Trade Credit and Political Risk industry since 2002 when he joining Export Development Canada (EDC) in Calgary, Alberta. Then he was the VP Western Canada with Millennium CreditRisk Management a division of Cowan Insurance (Ottawa) prior to founding Global Trade Credit in 2014. Earlier in his career in Manitoba, he held the rights from the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) NY for a World Trade Centre in Winnipeg as he completed a Business Plan and Feasibility Study for the development. He served as the Aerospace Trade Development Officer for the Government of Manitoba and was the proponent and co-founder of the Manitoba Aerospace Association and the representative to the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada (AIAC) in Ottawa. His community involvement has been with the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Junior Championships, VIP Host Committee; Hockey Canada as a Director of the World Sport School Championships (WSSC); Hockey Calgary Board of Directors; Past-President of the Blackfoot Hockey Association in the Calgary Minor Hockey Association and currently sits on the Hockey Alberta Foundation Board of Directors, Camp Bickell Board\'s of Directors; the Receivables Insurance Association of Canada (RIAC) Board of Director\'s; and the RCAF Foundation Advisory Council. He is currently an Ambassador to the SickKids Hospital Foundation in Toronto, Ontario in support of the J.P. Bickell Society via the J.P. Bickell Foundation and the Annie Paris Bickell Endowment. He researched, commissioned and co-wrote a book on his relative J.P. Bickell (18••••51) who was the principal Owner, Chairman, President and Director of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Maple Leaf Gardens (19••••51). This family legacy lives on with the J.P. Bickell Foundation, with over $300M administered by Scotiabank to the benefit of Toronto Sick Kids Hospital (over $120M to date), various Medical Research and Mining bursaries and grants. The book entitled J.P. Bickell - The Life, the Leafs and the Legacy was published by Dundurn Press and in stores Sept. 9 2017 and has sold approximately copies. The result of his efforts, was that the Toronto Maple Leafs along with Larry Tanenbaum and Brendan Shanahan reinstated the J.P.Bickell Memorial Award on February 2, 2019 and presented it to Ian Turnbull for his NHL record 5 goal game on February 2, 1977. Having been born and raised in a farming community in Saskatchewan, he is a proud shareholder of the Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club, the 2025 Grey Cup Champions!
