ABOUT MACKENZIE NAYLOR HELMS

I am currently working full time at Merriman Schmitt Architects specializing in architecture, interior design, and planning as a Senior Project Manager while also working towards becoming a licensed architect. I have experience managing both exterior shell and interior upfits of various sizes - state-of-the-art racing industry offices and race shops, as well as other sector buildings ranging from small to medium size multi-level office/ retail buildings to 1 million SF + industrial warehouses with multistory offices. Several of the buildings I’ve worked on have been recognized with design excellence awards through the Tilt-Up Construction Association and Charlotte Business Journal Heavy Hitters, reflecting our team’s commitment to innovation and quality. As an architect, my goal is to create resilient designs that generate positive and innovative experiences for every user. I graduated with distinction in May of 2016 from the Environmental Design Program at the University of Colorado Boulder with a Bachelors in Architecture and a minor in Business Entrepreneurship and Innovation. During my time at CU Boulder, I studied abroad in Rome, Italy where I took classes in classic and modern architecture and urban planning, as well as Italian culture, business, and language. I am a passionate, organized, responsible worker that is eager to put what I have learned so far in my career, as well as my undergraduate education, to real practice in the professional world.
