ABOUT MACKENZIE MAPES

I am an alumnus of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Masters of Professional Accounting (May of 2020) and a Bachelor of Science in Business Adminsitration with a major in Accounting and a minor in Finance (May of 2019). During my time at UNL I became active in my community though the Pepsi Service Scholars, TeamMate\'s Mentoring Program, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA), and Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity.The organizations I volunteered my time with, collectively taught me a valuable lesson on the topic of leadership. Through TeamMates I was a Mentor, a fundraiser, and a board member. Through VITA I was a site coordinator, a quality reviewer, and a specialist. Through my Fraternity I was a chairman, an event organizer, and a champion of the community. Across these organizations the end goal was different, but there was a single constant, I worked with a diverse team to accomplish each goal. Working with these teams I learned that no matter your team members\' background, if you invest in them and take the time to guide and inspire them the results are always incredible!I am currently a licensed CPA in the state of Illinois while being employed with EYP as a Deals Senior Associate. I am maintaining my passion for serving my community by continuing to volunteer my time as a member of TeamMates Scholarship Committee, ensuring that both disadvantaged and high achieving students receive the funding they need to make a college education a reality.
