About MacKenzie L. Pater

I am inspired by the opportunity to bring novel therapeutics to the patients that need them. The sad fact that less than 1 out of 10 drugs in the clinic will make it to market is the motivation that led me to CinRx Pharma in 2020. CinRx is a portfolio of biotechnology companies formed via in-licensing deals (i.e. CinCor Pharma ($CINC), CinFina Pharma) and partnership investments (i.e. vTv Therapeutics), both leveraging the deep drug development experience our team brings. My experience working in clinical operations for almost a decade, married with my understanding of the financing needs required to drive drug development makes me a pivotal member of the CinRx executive team. In my role, I collaborate with investors, strategics, and drug developers as well as assess the compatibility of new investment opportunities for our portfolio. I am a trained scientist, receiving my PhD in biomechanics from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). At UIC, working with some of the top academics at UIC and Rush University Medical Center, I was awarded a prestigious fellowship from the NIH for my dissertation research focusing on mobility in patients with osteoarthritis. Prior to my time at UIC, I received my MS from Wake Forest University and my BS from the University of Dayton, where I was an athlete on the women’s varsity tennis team. I am in the final push of an MBA from Xavier University. I am an avid runner, having completed over 20 marathons including the Boston Marathon, and have fallen victim to the humbling game of golf.
