I am a dedicated senior at Texas A&M University majoring in Allied Health with minors in Entrepreneurship and Health Humanities, with over hours of diverse shadowing and internship experience across healthcare, business, and public service. My professional background reflects a strong commitment to both medicine and leadership, supported by a full-ride Terry Foundation Scholarship.My most relevant clinical exposure began at The Physician’s Centre in College Station, where I shadowed orthopedic surgeons, nurse anesthesiologists, and nurses, gaining firsthand experience with surgical procedures and patient care. I expanded into the business side of healthcare by shadowing pharmaceutical sales representatives at Biote, a hormone replacement therapy company, where I learned about client relations, sales strategy, and healthcare marketing. In Corpus Christi, I shadowed OB/GYN physicians and nurse practitioners, while in Kingsville I gained additional experience at dental offices observing dentists and dental assistants. I also had the privilege of interning at the Texas State Capitol with State Representative J.M. Lozano, where I engaged with legislative processes, policy development, and community service.Beyond healthcare, I bring experience in marketing, event management, lifeguarding, fitness training, and tutoring. I have been involved in fifteen organizations throughout high school and college, including founding my own women’s fitness organization, which reflects my passion for leadership and mentorship. My career interests include dentistry, pharmaceutical sales, and healthcare business, as I aspire to integrate my passion for patient care with a strong background in entrepreneurship and sales.

   During my three months shadowing Dr. Kerr, a General Dentist, I had the opportunity to closely observe and learn about the daily responsibilities and procedures involved in dentistry while gaining a deeper understanding of patient care and clinical practice. Dr. Kerr spent a great deal of time communicating with me about the essential roles of a dentist, explaining not only the technical aspects of dentistry but also how important it is to build trust and communicate effectively with patients before, during, and after procedures. She walked me through how to properly introduce a procedure, how to speak with patients in a reassuring and professional manner, and how to make them feel comfortable in what can sometimes be an anxious environment. Throughout my time in the office, I observed a wide range of dental procedures while Dr. Kerr carefully described what was happening both physically and manually during each step, helping me understand the purpose behind the tools, techniques, and decisions she made. In addition to observing, I was able to engage with patients and interact with the dental assistants and staff, who were incredibly helpful in teaching me more about the workflow of a dental office, the teamwork required, and the many details that go into providing quality dental care. This experience allowed me to see firsthand how communication, precision, and collaboration all play critical roles in dentistry, and it gave me valuable insight into what it takes to successfully care for patients in a clinical setting.
