ABOUT MACKENZIE CUNDIFF

I am currently enrolled as a senior at Western Kentucky University in the College of Science and Engineering as well as Health and Human Services. I am seeking a Bachelor of Science in both Biology and Dental Hygiene. I am passionate about becoming a dental hygienist and am seeking exciting opportunities related to that interest. I am a first-generation college student, from an extremely rural town who struggles with poverty. Our STEM education always struggled the most. I pride myself on the fact I have been able to successfully take on challenging course loads with immense amount of leadership roles and involvement. I have been honored to be on the Dean’s List and President’s List here at WKU while representing my university as a Student Alumni Ambassador, Student Government Association Senator, Pre-Dental Club Vice President, Kappa Delta Sorority President, Omicron Delta Kappa member, AHEC Scholar, and Mahurin Honors College member. My greatest skills are how my leadership is highlighted in my communication with others, public speaking, problem solving, time management, and adaptability. I have always been goal-oriented and success driven. I am a huge mental health advocate for others and have a lot of emotional intelligence when it comes to myself. My strengths are being personable and being easy to connect with people who are very different from myself, my passion and drive to achieve my dreams, and my love for helping others. I strongly believe that the diverse environments I have been apart of and the many leadership roles I have held shaped me into the individual I am today. I am looking forward to gaining opportunities in the future that help me further polish my strengths and improve my weaknesses.
