ABOUT MACKENZIE CALHOUN

I practically grew up in a nursing home. For the first decade of my life, my grandmother owned and operated what was previously known as Golden Years Manor, employing the vast majority of my family in rural Arkansas. While I could hardly grasp the concept of a “healthcare administrator” at the time, I now recognize the countless values her leadership instilled in me - creativity, humility, tenacity, collaboration, and compassion. It is my belief that every individual is entitled to the highest standard of physical and mental wellbeing. Unfortunately, our current healthcare delivery system is not designed to tackle many of the challenges associated with providing holistic, patient-centered care. I am passionate about improving care coordination for vulnerable populations and believe we must incorporate the social determinants of health in order to do so.I am energized by the opportunity to engage, collaborate, and develop meaningful relationships with the wide variety of stakeholders across the continuum of care. As I look forward in my career, I’m eager to continue deploying innovative strategies to create a more equitable healthcare landscape for all.
