Served as project engineer for numerous bridge rehabilitation and superstructure replacement projects for the MaineDOT and Maine Turnpike Authority. Task managed projects from the preliminary design stage through construction support including cost estimation, plan development and writing specifications. Served as project engineer on the design and construction support services for the Beals Island Bridge. The replacement bridge consists of 8 spans and is 1,062 feet long. The superstructure comprises of precast, prestressed concrete New England Bulb Tee beams and the piers are two-column bent piers with a floating footing pile cap or diaphragm wall, supported by large drilled shaft foundations. Assisted with community outreach for the Main Street Bridge in Yarmouth ME. Extensive coordination with the Town’s bridge advisory committee was required over two years during development of the project’s design of a historically sensitive new three-span variable-depth reinforced concrete superstructure on rehabilitated substructure elements.
