Directly engaged at all levels of operations, specifically responsible for advising executive management, department leaders, staff, and various other business clients across the eXp Realty global family of companies; built and directly manage a 25-person legal department, keeping team members focused and motivated. Developed and implemented the legal operations function within eXp Realty, building a litigation management team, commercial contracts team, employment law team, and entity management team. Responsible for legal budgets and forecasting; identifying and resolving wide-ranging legal issues, including business law, employment law, transactional and commercial law, litigation risk, intellectual property, privacy, data security, regulatory, and licensing, working directly with business clients to provide on-the-ground support. Interpret laws and regulations and advise business leaders on legal and regulatory matters, ensuring regulatory compliance in all areas relevant to eXp Realty. Develop and draft new agent independent contractor agreement form sets for real estate agents worldwide, cross-departmental internal forms, and global policies and procedures. Manage and coordinate with outside counsel. Lead the legal team\'s review and oversight of multiple, concurrent initiatives across all channels. Educate business clients concerning substantive law, policies and procedures. Advise as to best practices and legal implications of anticipated policy and operational decisions within areas of the law including company operations, employment, financing, insurance, intellectual property, social media, information technology, and compliance matters. Although my responsibilities vary day to day, I wear many different hats in this role and am comfortable and motivated by a fast-paced, innovative and technology centered environment where I can leverage my demonstrated expertise in all areas on a regular basis.\\\\n \\\\n\\\\n \\\\n \\\\n\\\\n \\\\n
