ABOUT MACAYLA BRICARELL
Hi there I\'m Macayla! I graduated from the University of Florida (go Gators ) in May 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in public relations and a minor in history. Since graduating, I have worked for The Walt Disney Company, The North American Veterinary Community, Chamberlain Health, and now as a history educator. Throughout my early career days in communications, I have planned and executed various events and written campaigns to meet the needs of my clients or internal teams. Through various presentations, written pieces and social media campaigns, I have translated large concepts into tangible stories, meeting the public where they were. This has included special events where I coordinated with press, highlighted important research in press releases and organized various video production in conjunction with both in-house and external videographers. Since leaving communications, I have kept my skills sharp using Canva and various other applications to develop content and assignments for my students. Given the challenge of convincing 8th graders to care about things that happened hundreds of years ago in a project-based learning environment, I have also become a project manager with 164 individuals to manage and assist with varying needs and skillsets to meet a common goal of greater understanding.My passion lies in finding a story and making it digestible for my audience, whether employees in the know or students learning about the world for the first time.
